Q: Does “do it yourself” mean doing crafty stuff? I’m not very good at that

A: There are all kinds of do-it-yourself projects that aren’t crafty, like making recipes or organizing thing in your home, or making your own places to exercise. Even if something does seem “crafty”. there will always be step-by-step instructions to help you through it. And don’t worry–no one else will see what you’re doing so you can do the projects in your own way.


Health Behavior

Q: What is health behavior?

A: Health behavior is an action taken by a person to maintain, attain, or regain good health and to prevent illness. Health behavior reflects a person’s health beliefs. Some common health behaviors are exercising regularly, eating a balanced diet, and obtaining necessary inoculations.

Fitness and Wellness

Q: Why the title “Fitness AND Wellness”? Aren’t they the same thing?

A:  In a way–yes. Fitness is a part of achieving Wellness, and Wellness is what results from Fitness. However, for our purposes, Fitness covers movement (a term I prefer over “exercise”) For some, “exercise” is a nasty word but they still like to move in different ways: dancing, sports, or lawn games. These are fun activities and people don’t think of it as exercising.

Wellness covers taking care of your entire body, mind, and spirit through a variety of natural therapies like herbs, essential oils, meditation, or Yoga.
