The DIY Healthy Lifestyles Center is your own personal online health and wellness center. Its mission is to provide information, instruction, interaction, influence, and inspiration for creating your own wellness.

For people seeking improved health and wellness, the DIY Healthy Lifestyles Center assures easier lifestyle change through its unique five-point “do-it-yourself” plans.

Hi! My name is Kat and I’m the program admin at the DIY Healthy Lifestyles Center, as well as the editor-publisher at Healthy Lifestyles Media.

I really do look like this ‘mini-me’ caricature. You’ll find I like to sprinkle in touches of humor throughout these pages. It helps to lighten up somewhat heavy topics like lifestyle and behavior change.

Keeping a sense of humor is one of the things that goes a long way toward making lifestyle change easier.

Another is the DIY approach.


Just What Does “DIY” Mean?

In case you’re not a home improvement fanatic, a hobbyist or an artsy-craftsy type who is already familiar with this term, DIY  stands for “Do It Yourself”.

When it came to figuring out a plan for my own wellness, I had to do a lot myself. I lacked the means to do the things most people would do: join a fitness center, buy equipment, shop for supplements, and get into a take-out smoothie club.

The DIY Plan focuses on frugality and simplicity. That’s a nicer way of saying “cheap and easy”.  This plan strives to make lifestyle change easier by making it simpler.

The DIY Healthy Lifestyles Center resulted from my personal and academic research into finding relief for fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, and related issues.

When conventional medical treatments weren’t helping me get better, I began researching ways to do it myself on a very tight budget. I won’t go into the whole story here because you can click here to read it if you’re interested.

Anyone seeking healthy living can use this plan–you don’t have to be suffering from illness or chronic pain. All you need is a desire to get healthier than you are now and to do it for much less than a yearly fitness club membership.
